Birthday Lego Brick Castle Giveaway

It's my birthday and this was my present!

It wasn't entirely a surprise - this is the 4th year running that I've had the latest Lego Winter Village set for my birthday. I'd have been incredibly disappointed if I hadn't had it to add to my collection.

Now begins the many hours of putting it all together ready for Christmas. I love it, I really do. I've started already...

To celebrate my birthday and my new Lego I thought I'd offer my readers some Lego stockingfillers. I have 3 x Lego 40054 Summer Scene packs to give away - 1 each to 3 winners. No longer available from Lego it can remind you of Sunnier times while it's cold outside. They have a very special feature, aside from the man on a sun lounger and the parasol.....you see it?
.....Yes indeed, you can win your very own Brick Castle....

As if that wasn't enough, I'm also offering the first prize winner one of our favourite Lego sets from the Monster Fighters range too - 9461 The Swamp Creature.

Entry is by Rafflecopter below...

If you don't like Rafflecopter or want extra chances to win, I'll be offering the same Brick Castle and Monster Hunters Lego prizes for 2 more people in a second competition tomorrow.

Please note the terms and conditions at the bottom of the Rafflecopter. UK entrants only.

  24. Duplo is brilliant for little Lego fans, and then Lego, depending on the set and style is perfect for ages 4 through to 104! Some sets / styles are catered more for older children, but 'normal' Lego is brilliant for anyone!

    ReplyDelete
  25. As soon as they can safely, it without putting it into their mouths!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I would say around 3-4 years upwards :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. 18+ months

    ReplyDelete
  28. All ages! It help with imagination, Hand Eye coordination, learning colours for younger kids.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  39. From age 4 till whenever you want (I've been known to play with my kids lego when they're in bed)

    ReplyDelete
  40. My daughter started showing a proper interest in her brother's lego about the age of 4, ie: making structures and objects, before she would just demolish her brother's work!

    ReplyDelete
  41. its for all ages but i think my son started playing with it when he was 5

    ReplyDelete
  42. i think 5 above your never to old to play with lego ;)

    ReplyDelete
  43. The ideal age? As soon as you aren't going to shove the pieces up your nostrils till.. well forever? Seriously age 4+ I'd say for the little proper lego, and there's no upper age on it! x

    ReplyDelete
  44. 4 onwards for Lego
My son had Duplo from 18 months.

    ReplyDelete
  45. age 2 for the big pieces and nice bright colours but than it grows as the child grows infact when my first child was born we didnt say its a boy to my parents but you can buy a lego railway now as they said if it was a boy that is what they would do, and true to their word they did. Now I am buying for my grandchildren
    @bella97p

    ReplyDelete
  46. all ages, my son started at about 3 years old & still plays with it at 13 - I also join in too!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think duplo for ages 2+ and then big LEGO from about age 5 or 6. But really, LEGO is fab so, so long as you're sensible with it, anyone can enjoy it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. My sons liked Lego from 3 years old. I think any age is the best age, I still like Lego now. :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think they can start with proper LEGO around 3 or 4 but then it lasts forever! My husband still loves playing it with Ethan

    ReplyDelete
  50. My little one is 2 and loves playing with lego....as do I!

    ReplyDelete
  51. age 3 their imagination is amazing and they can create such an array of things.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I think my boys got really into Lego when they were 3, so I would say from 3 until 103!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I reckon about 4 as thats when they grow out of duplo and want to experiment and explore other things

    ReplyDelete
  54. any age!!! but 3 is probably about right, good for hand /eye coordination
    @sarah_punter

    ReplyDelete
  55. 5+ I think and Duplo for the little ones!

  58. Any age from that point where kids stop sticking things in their mouths. And I don't just mean kids. My sisters & I love it, & my dad loves it. It is one of those toys where it enjoyable to help the kids play, Even if they love breaking it up as much as building.
    @DisaDisamo

    ReplyDelete
  59. Id say 4+, as soon as they can manage holding the little pieces and putting them together.

    ReplyDelete
  60. 21, because that's when you really start to appreciate it :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'd say 5 years onwards for the smallest lego and 2 years for the biggest lego.

    ReplyDelete
  62. 3+ depending on the size of the lego

    ReplyDelete
  63. All ages from 3+. My sister loves lego building and she's 51!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. From age 3 or as long as you're sure they wont put it in their mouth

    ReplyDelete
  65. From whenever a youngster learns not to try to eat it to any age. Our whole family loves it and this spans several generations.

    ReplyDelete
  66. 37 is the ideal age if you ask me ;-) Big man would probably say 5+ tho!

    ReplyDelete
  67. My 4 year old loves it. He struggled to get the pieces together when he was younger.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Lego is great at all ages. Whether your're a baby crawling around sucking on huge Duplo bricks, to an OAP building huge train tracks for the great grand kids.

    ReplyDelete
  69. probably from about 5 when they're not going to be putting small pieces in their mouths

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'd say 4+ for the normal lego but our daughter used to try and play with sons lego when she was only about 2 (under supervision of course). There is no upper age limit on lego, I still love it now :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. As soon as you stop trying to chew everything you see ...

    ReplyDelete
  72. Duplo Lego is suitable from 18 months. My daughter who is nearly 3 loves her Duplo. My son who is almost 6 was never that bothered with Lego but has now got into it in a big way and there are several lego city sets on his Christmas List!!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. i think fro around 4 but if your with the child and they are enjoying it then before that age can be fun. as my son has got older , the way he plays with the lego has changed. mega stuff that goes on for years

    ReplyDelete
  74. starting age is when you know the little darlings won shove it in their mouths but right up until any age after that! my gran who is 90 loves playing with it along with my son :)
    Karen colquhoun

    ReplyDelete
  75. Ben is 4 & is really starting to get into his Lego now. He follows the picture instructions & has the fine motor skills to manipulate it all.

    ReplyDelete
  76. It says 3+, but I'm not sure if that might be a bit young. My daughter is 20 mths and likes Lego but some pieces are way too small for my liking!

    ReplyDelete
  77. From age 3 onwards up to 99 :-)

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'd say about 3 but there's no upper limit Lol

    ReplyDelete
  79. 3+ as some pieces can be small

    ReplyDelete
  80. My son has been playing with his Lego and building his collection since he was 5

    ReplyDelete
  81. By about 7 mine could follow the instructions and build them independently.

    ReplyDelete
  82. 6-8 years is best as your skills have developed enough to really create something brilliant.

    ReplyDelete
  83. From about 3 years upwards I would say :) I still play with my sons now.x

    ReplyDelete
  84. 32 cos that's my age and I loooove lego!

    ReplyDelete
  85. about 3or 4 but only if you are there to make sure they dont put small pieces in there mouth

    ReplyDelete
  86. Never too young or old for Lego!

    ReplyDelete
  87. As soon as you can fit 2 duplo blocks together - Under 2 in the case of my kids, until you are an adult. I love lego!

    ReplyDelete
  88. I don't think there is a best age, Lego is for all ages. My 21 year old still loves it (although doesn't have a box full any longer lol)

    ReplyDelete
  89. 3 years and upwards. I loved Lego as a child and still love it with the same passion now as a mother

    ReplyDelete
  90. any age depending on the size of the lego pieces

    ReplyDelete
  91. All the 5 year olds I know LOVE Lego x

    ReplyDelete
  92. I think 5+ as its easier to handle and build without help x

    ReplyDelete
  93. From about a year old if it is the big duplo bricks

    ReplyDelete
  94. I would think about 3 - 4 depending on the child but my12 year old granddaughter and her Dad still love it too

    ReplyDelete
  95. When they're old enough not to leave it lying around on the floor to stand on with bare feet! Apart from that, 6 upwards :-)

    ReplyDelete
  96. 3 or 4 with no upper age limit!

    ReplyDelete
  97. The best time to play with it is between the ages of 3 and 103, especially around the 30 mark!

I would say 3 just because I know how much my 3 year old loves lego!

    ReplyDelete
  98. I think Duplo to start with and then around 4-5 get on to the Lego

    ReplyDelete
  99. Mine have had duplo since they were about 2 and some lego from 3years.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Any age from 5 onwards! especially for the big kids!

    ReplyDelete
  101. 5 and upwards

    ReplyDelete
  102. start with lego duplo from 2

    ReplyDelete
  103. Any age, everyone likes Lego, even me!

    ReplyDelete
  104. Honestly, I'd say any age from about 3/4 onwards. Though there's always Duplo for the younger ones. I remember playing with Lego when I was very young, and my other half still loves to build things now, in his 30s.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Any age really although i would say probably from about 3+ when they will enjoy it properly.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Lego has products suitable for all ages,0-adult,simple and large enough for teething tots right through to complex fiddly "bits"to make older bods grind their teeth.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I think it's great for all ages, my nephews are 5 and 10 and Mr M is 36 and they all love it ... I even have a go myself sometimes! x

    ReplyDelete
  108. From ages 3 up. With the different sizes there is no need to worry about the small pieces. Then as they grow up the amount the can play with and make increases.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Lego is ageless and timeless you just have to make sure you get the duplo for the littlies

    ReplyDelete

My 2 year old loves Lego, so any age at all!

    ReplyDelete
  111. ages 3 - 150, I enjoy playing with lego and was even part of a lego club at university.

    ReplyDelete
  112. starting from 3-4yrs it's quite small pieces :)

    ReplyDelete
  113. I would say 3+ to over 100 years old.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Duplos until they don't mouth everything 3/4 and up for Legos

    ReplyDelete
  115. My daughter was 2 when we first bought her some Lego, prior to that, she had Lego Duplo

    ReplyDelete
  116. Elizabeth Williams17 November 2013 at 17:35

    From 3/4 I would say

    ReplyDelete
  117. I'd say Duplo from about 2 and Lego from about 4 to 104!

    ReplyDelete
  118. duplo from 2, and then as look as the 'lego' moves you keep enjoying it- so no one age.

    ReplyDelete
  119. from about 4 approx but mine loved it straight away, as soon as they dont want swallow the bricks lol

    ReplyDelete
  120. my 7 year old loves it and has been playing with it from the age of 4

    ReplyDelete
  121. My 14mth old loves Lego (Duplo), as does my 3yo. But the "proper" Lego, I'd say about 5.

    ReplyDelete
  122. My little guy who is 19 months is fantastic with lego but my 3 year isn't quite so good

    ReplyDelete
  123. I'd say between 5 - 8 @criscurran

    ReplyDelete
  124. 3+ i still love playing with it now :)

    ReplyDelete
  125. Anything over 3 is good age for lego. The adults have more fun with it in my experience

    ReplyDelete
  126. I think from 4 years onwards - youre well past the putting in mouth stage and the imagination is really starting to flow x

    ReplyDelete
  127. They make lego for all ages - so as soon as your child wont try and eat it :)

    ReplyDelete
  128. Age 2-1/2 to age 200. It's a family event for us and no one is too old or too young.
    @jdcutler

    ReplyDelete
  129. Age 3-4 years to an age

    ReplyDelete
  130. Between 3 and 10 and then 20 upwards

    ReplyDelete
  131. My son started at 2, i did at the age of 40

    ReplyDelete
  132. never too late. My mum just started at the ripe age of 77

    ReplyDelete
  133. I think age 7 is perfect! The age of my godson and he seems the perfect age playing with them! @cricrinapoli1

    ReplyDelete
  134. I would say 6+ @Amezeylady

    ReplyDelete
  135. I would say 4+ as long as the children can handle the pieces confidently and without getting frustrated. My eldest is just moving on to lego now as she and her little sister play with duplo instead - the little one can manage duplo so they build together.

    ReplyDelete
  136. 35 right - and as no-one else in my house is old enough I shall have to play with it in my room :)

    ReplyDelete
  137. As soon as the person in question understands that putting Lego in their mouth is wrong, then they are old enough! And my 92 year old great-grandmother loved playing Lego with us!

    ReplyDelete
  138. I would say when the children are out of the stage where they pop bits in the mouth. Lego isn't all small - there are some nice pieces to play with under supervision. So 2/3+?

    ReplyDelete
  139. I would stay 5, when little minds have amazing imaginations. However my family started with Duplo from 2/3. I love Lego now... I'm not young nor old

    ReplyDelete
  140. As soon as the child knows not to eat the bricks they are old enough for lego, until this age they can have Duplo which is great fun but too big to swallow

    ReplyDelete
  141. I've just started with The Boy and he's 4.5, before then and he wasn't interested. Thanks for the competition.

    ReplyDelete
  142. 3-4 years of age and upwards with no limits :)

    ReplyDelete
  143. 3-4 years of age and upwards with no limits :)

    ReplyDelete
  144. 3-4 years of age and upwards with no limits :)

    ReplyDelete
  145. 3-4 years of age and upwards with no limits :)

    ReplyDelete
  146. I'd say 8 and up for the smaller regular size legos! BUT- I truly think it depends on the interest of the children....my nephews range in age from 3 to 17 and all love building at their own skill level!

    ReplyDelete
  147. Ages 4+ to forever! Legos are fun for just about every age! DamianMom at yahoo dot com

    ReplyDelete
  148. I think about 5 or 6 ideally x

    ReplyDelete
  149. Well, I get the Lego out when the grandchildren come, and we end up with people in their 50's, thirties, twenties, and aged 11, 5 and 3 all spread out over the floor busy with it. So maybe anyone aged under 110?

    ReplyDelete
  150. Its my daughters birthday week too.. and she LOVES Lego.. Se will be 7 and I think this is probably the age when they can really get stuck into some of the trickier stuff by themselves. And I am always willing to help..I could loose hours and hours building with lego..love the stuff!! Twitter: kyleewiley1

    ReplyDelete
  151. Any age from about 3! you're never too old! :)

    ReplyDelete
  152. probably around 3 - 4 years or when you can trust them not to put anything into their mouths

    ReplyDelete
  153. My 2 year old will happily play with his brother's lego. As long as they are supervised and over putting everything in their mouth then it's great for their fine motor skills :)

    ReplyDelete
  154. From 3 I think, just fun to help them if they can't put things together themselves.
    @novicecomper

    ReplyDelete
  155. Lego is for all ages but realistically from 3 my kids had duplo before proper lego lol

    ReplyDelete
  156. I think that from 2 then duplo is good and lego from 5. I still enjoy it at 31, so no upper age limit to enjoying it

    ReplyDelete
  157. I think about 4, although it depends on younger siblings as some of those bits are so small!

    ReplyDelete
  158. From about 3 or 4 and duplo for younger than this.

    ReplyDelete
  159. my son is 14 still and still plays with it (don't tell his friends!!)

    ReplyDelete
  160. Around 3, when they know it's not for eating!
