The Price Of Cinema Tickets Kills Me.....

We did it, we finally managed to get everyone together who wanted to go and see the Lego Movie and we went! Yeeay! We even managed to get my sister and her kids over to come with us. And it really was awesome....

We saw it in 3D at the request of the teenagers, and aside from one of ours who wanted to go shopping instead and our biggest who's moved out now, we were all there. I booked all the tickets including my sister's and her children, so 10 in total and oh my crikey, this is why we only take them all to the cinema a couple of times a year. £73 lighter....Frankly upgrading to 3D didn't even make a blip and the seats were very luxurious....

My little boys are very used to movies because I'm a very cruel Mother and don't let them watch kids TV (after 20 years of having young children you'd be fed up with it too). Everyone sat still through the movie and we didn't have any toilet visits!!! Yeeay!

I cried at the end, I'm not ashamed to admit it. It's nice to know that Lego have the same ideals as us, the ending was a great surprise (thank you to everyone who's seen it and didn't let on). The grown ups cried and the kids just sang, but everyone thought it was brilliant.

When we got home it's not really a stunner that when I went into the kitchen this is what greeted me...

And I can't really complain too much about finding this at an unbelievable 10.20pm when they'd been 'in bed' for 2 hours!!

At least we should get a lie in tomorrow....Everything IS awesome....

  2. I still haven't seen it but you're making me wanna see it even more!! It does look so great!
I have to say for 10 people at the cinema I think 73 quid is not that bad! Down here it would be more :p Same reason we don't go that much because we would pay quite close to that for 5 people I think!

    1. It was £10.95 per adult but we managed to reduce it by getting 2 family tickets and going in the 'day time' :)

  3. The cinema is expensive, we don't go very often but that's mainly because LM is too young and it's only recently that Bud will sit through a whole film. Really looking forward to seeing The Lego Movie though!

  4. We haven't seen it….yet! We tend to visit the cinema on a 'juniors' day so get cheap tickets, although the choice of film is limited and never the latest release! We may have to make an exception for the Lego Movie!

  5. I cant wait to see the film, and the cost is shocking, we only ever go to £1 cinema, and we sneak in our own snacks and drinks...

    1. Our teenagers used to go to the £1 cinema on Saturday morning, but they're a bit old now. The snacks weren't too bad - £2.49 for a lot of popcorn, a drink and Oreo's - we bought 1 between each pair of children :)

  6. We are waiting for some vouchers from Vue to come through and are going to go and see this with them. Can't wait! Haven't told the children yet though, will surprise them on the day.

    1. I didn't tell mine until that morning when I booked the tickets - I daren't ever tell them anything because there's so much chance of someone becoming sick or something else to change the plan! :D
