Stars of the show are the Simpson Family themselves - this time with Grampa Simpson
As well as the Simpson children we've got Ralph, Nelson and Millhouse
Ralph is holding the fantastic card from one of the Valentine's shows. Ralph's Dad, Chief Wiggum, is also present, with his megaphone and nightstick.
Nelson has a baseball bat, and Millhouse the Biclops comic book from The Worst Episode Ever. There's a heck of a lot of thought gone into these accessories.
Apu's Squishee cup is still just about my favourite all-time LEGO piece but, for me at least, it's almost matched by Ned's mug (close up later).
Krusty, Itchy and Scratchy have fantastic rubbery heads and Scratchy has a rubber tail. I think they are incredibly well represented - they have really quite complex faces, so it's impressive.
Mr Burns' props are perfect. The Plutonium rod and Blinky the 3 eyed fish are excellent choices. I thought the green suit was a nice touch too, as are the liver spots on his head.
I think they're really impressive. The faces are very good,
everyone's character is well caught. They have an interesting selection
of accessories, which are really nicely done and very memorable.
The printed tiles are really sharp and works of art really. Grampa's newspaper actually tells a story, as does Ned's mug from the doomed Leftorium, and the 'property of Ned Flanders' stickers on his property which will still be pinched by Homer.
The figures are actually nicer I feel than the figures in the Simpsons House, which do have half-closed eyes and expressions that look as if they haven't slept in a week. Comparing them you can see that it's necessary to make them clearly different, but I think it could have been slightly better done.
The blind bag minifigures are on the black stand, the house minifigures are not.
And here, a cheeky little difference. The devil really is in the detail.....
The only complaint I have is that they haven't made Moe, Barney, Lenny and Carl - it's almost like they considered releasing Moe's Tavern....
Although we are LEGO Family Bloggers, sadly they didn't send us a full set. We bought all these minifigures ourselves - including another Apu Nahasapeemapetilon
If I see then, I will sell you! Lol.
ReplyDeleteHahaha....yeah, okay Eileen - I'll hold you to that! :D
DeleteI was so tempted to buy some yesterday but Monkey won the day with his digger set.
ReplyDeleteAw boo! However we'll let him have his digger - but tell him he needs to move on to the LEGO within the next 2 years ;P
DeleteThese are great, but 7yo isn't that bothered by them sadly. She seems to have sidestepped from Lego to Sylvanian Families at the mo.
ReplyDeleteSylvanian Families are really cute though - I loved it when the girls had them because they were so tiny. We keep finding random bits and pieces even now! :D
DeleteThis is one awesome set of characters - well done getting them all!
ReplyDeleteCheers Kel! In the past we've bought a box to ensure we got them all, but we just weren't on the ball this time :D
DeleteThese are awesome! I love the minifigures!
