Despite appearances the contents had mostly survived - and the sports equipment was all still there....yeeay!
Then we had 2 weeks where everyone took it in turns to share tonsilitis and tummy bugs, then I went to Britmums, but finally now everyone is well and the sun has been shining, so we've been able to actually make use of the equipment - double yeeay!
Football is a perfect family game - all ages, all abilities. All 4 of my boys spent a couple of hours after school playing in the sun. It was really good for the bigger 2, who had spent all afternoon gardening and needed to unwind, and lovely for the younger 2 to have quality time with their big brothers.
Obviously 1001 uses for a cone doesn't only start when you reach college....
As well as the World Cup we've also got Wimbledon in full swing. We were sent a fantastic table tennis set which works on pretty much any table, and is almost perfect for our kitchen, and definitely perfect for Manchester weather - anything indoors is a good idea....
It's had a lot of play, although I don't think anyone is getting any better - but my 5 year old has had plenty of chance to practice his belly laugh ....
Despite taking about 100 photos, I don't have a single one where everyone's in focus! It's more active than you'd think, but again, anyone can have a go - and does. It's amazing. Even the most reluctant can't resist picking up a table tennis bat....
Warburtons have teamed up with the Brownlee Brothers, who will hopefully come away with a medal at the Commonwealth Games this Summer, to think of some other ideas for simple games to get everyone moving...
I have to admit we've not tried all of them, but the Backward Sprint proved hilarious. Being able to run fast forwards is definitely no indication of your prowess at that event!
After you've finished, it has to be a butty for tea....
Before the awards ceremony....
For outdoor fun!
For portraits with great expressions,
and I cheated really because my photo was too blurry for a close up!
Clearly Warburtons kindly sent us the parcel in return for this post,
and the courier tried their best to destroy it.
It is great that the sun is out and your family could enjoy more outdoor games! I love how warburtons team up to Beth everyone healthy.
ReplyDeleteIt's ace to get out in the garden again - it's been such a long Spring this year. I think everyone should Beth healthy :P
DeleteI love it when all the family enjoy time together to play.
ReplyDeleteI love watching the children playing together - it's a rare day we get 4 or more doing an activity at once and that's the first time they've all played football. They were all equally rubbish! :D
DeleteWhat a great parcel to receive, shame the courier didn't think so. Its great to get outdoors and play with the kids. And having grown up in Manchester I know how unpredictable the weather can be! Great post.x #countrykids
ReplyDeleteManchester weather really is a bit poopy - I always thought it was joke until I moved here :D
DeleteWonder what sport the box was used for in the depot! Must be nice to see all the boys playing together. A few props always help. Lovely outdoor fun. #CountryKids
ReplyDeleteMy gosh you're so right! I think they must have been practising for their own version of the World Cup! :D
DeleteI'm intrigued by the backwards sprint race and what the mini triathlon involves (a paddling pool)?! Looks like you had a lot of fun - better late than never! #countrykids
ReplyDeleteThanks Baby Roots - we did, it was really nice to take time out and play. You should try the backwards sprint, the more competitive it is, the more funny :D

DeleteWow that looks like an amazing kit you were sent, I love the table, tennis site, I would love one of those except I get a bit competitive with table tennis! It looks like you had great fun
ReplyDeleteHaha...they are getting a bit competitive with it - the teenagers are bad enough, but my other half is awful! :D
DeleteIt looks like you had great fun and love that everyone got involved!

It's a rare day we get 4 of them together at all nowadays, let alone to play together like that :)
DeleteSounds like you had lots of fun with this as a family. The table tennis is a great idea but I'm not sure how we would get on with it! Lots of family fun!
ReplyDeleteWe're all rubbish at it really. The longest rally was between myself and my partner and it was a staggeringly bad 6 :D
DeleteWow that box looks like its been squash by an elephant good thing that the stuff inside are okay. So many fun things in that box too! Sports are not only for our health but also a chance to bond. =) #countrykids
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! You can't help but smile and laugh and it really dos relax everyone and bring them together :)
DeleteLots of family fun there. I love the table tennis. It looks like you all had a great time!
ReplyDeleteWe've been having a great time - it's really nice as none of the children had really ever tried table tennis before and they thought it looked really easy :D
DeleteBut the expression I love the most is the one with the cones on his head! Hilarious! Thanks for joining in x
