Harry Potter Style Hour Glass Necklace Review

Sometimes an offer of a review comes by that really suits the moment, and when I got the email about a Harry Potter style Time-Turner necklace, my 15 year old Harry Potter fan was sitting next to me. It would have been mean to refuse, especially as she had been looking at them a few days earlier.

The packaging is simple enough, and the necklace is solid, so it won't come to any harm, despite the hour glass in the centre. The chain is a good length, 33cm, and the necklace is actually fairly heavy.

There are 2 points that let this down. The gold-plating is thick, but not well done on my necklace, with a few bubbles which may well crack over time, and the fastening for the chain is plastic, which will be weaker than metal.

Everything else about this time-turner is great. The design is complex and well done, the movement is free and easy. The hour glass literally dumps it's sand in a fraction of a second, but it's real sand and real glass.

Around the edges of the rings, very clearly, is the inscription that is on Hermione's Time-Turner in Harry Potter:
I mark the hours, every one, nor have I yet outrun the sun.
My use and value unto you are gauged by what you have to do.

The Vision Creations Wizardry Gold Hour Glass Necklace currently retails at only £6.99 (with free postage for Amazon Prime customers). At that price it's an excellent gift for a Harry Potter fan, and a really interesting and unusual piece of jewellery. If they get the gold-plating spot on, then it would definitely be worthy of a far higher price tag.

We were sent our time-turner for review.
