The more alert among you may be able to spot that not everything went to plan.....Our friend Brett is somewhat of an expert at blind bag feeling, so it's worth noting that Edna Krabappel and Millhouse can actually be mistaken for each other. Edna has a special place for me, so I actually don't mind too much...
The kids are a great bunch, the 3 Simpsons, plus Martin and Millhouse (for the purposes of this post we'll be using 'Paper Millhouse'). Bart and Millhouse are in their Superhero gear (Bartman and Fallout Boy). Lisa has Snowball the cat and Maggie has Santa's Little Helper packed with them.
The faces of the characters are great, and I'm impressed at how different Marge and Homer look in their Sunday best 'date night' outfits.
Marge's sisters Patty and Selma are in this set, and it's great to see Hans Moleman complete with his voided driving licence given to him by Selma when he failed his vision test...
There's a great selection of random male characters, with Comic Book Guy, Dr Hibbert, Mr Burn's assistant Waylon Smithers and his boxed Stacy Doll, Professor Frink the crazy inventor and Groundskeeper Willie - who is holding a brilliant sink plunger.
Last but not least (in fact most in our case) is Edna Krabappel the permanently disenchanted and often broken-hearted Schoolteacher.
The selection of characters I think is really nicely done, and they do go together for posing or playing very well. There are some real obvious omissions though - we still have no Manjula, despite the graffiti'd love note hidden in the Kwik-E-Mart roof...
.....and no Moe, Karl or Lenny - which makes me wonder if they actually are considering a Moe's Tavern to add to the Simpson's House and Kwik-E-Mart buildings collection...
I'm a little disappointed that there is nothing to see at the back of these figures except for Bart and Millhouses capes, no painted details. The figures themselves are good though, with nice accessories and my kids have had a brilliant time playing with everything together in their own 'mini Springfield'.
