Meadow Kids are a UK company based in Bath. They develop and produce 'Learn & Play' children's toys and books which are designed to encourage the family to play together while the children learn. We've been sent 3 of their Mini Craft Kits to review, and they have also offered a bundle for one of my readers.
Included in the bundle are the Mini Dinosaurs Stamp Set, Mini Stencils For Girls and The Mini Secret Garden Fingerprint Friends. Each of the kits is suitable fror age 3+ and is presented in a really handy and attractive little 2 drawer box, which is a great way to keep everything together and in good condition, looks lovely on the shelf and makes a great gift.
The Mini Dinosaur Stamp Set comes with 8 different dinosaur stamps and a black ink pad, 5 felt tip pens and a selection of card and paper backgrounds to work with.
The dinosaur stamps were a firm favourite with everyone, and my 6 year old spent a long time creating a lovely birthday card for his friend which I completely forgot to take a photo of!
The Mini Stencils For Girls has 6 plastic stencils which have over 170 shapes, 6 colouring pencils and a sharpener (excellent because we can never find one), and a selection of printed sheets, plain cards and envelopes.
Instantly we had an issue with the Mini Stencils For Girls, as my 2 colourblind young boys love pink (it's the brightest colour to them) and were not impressed with the name. They wouldn't use this set until we renamed it "Mini Stencils For Girls - But That's A Lie".
The Mini Secret Garden Fingerprint Friends contains 8 stamps, 3 different coloured ink pads, 6 colouring pencils, cards to complete and envelopes.
This set was probably favoured overall because the cards are so lovely and the stamps are great for putting together larger pictures, although no-one even used their fingerprints to complete their pictures this time.
All of the children - from age 5 to 17 - joined in with stamping, stencilling, drawing and creating, and it kept them busy all afternoon. It was lovely and really does show that Meadow Kids have it right - these Mini Craft Kits are perfect for adults and children to enjoy spending time together.
If we have any minor criticisms, it's that the stencil uses capital letters and doesn't have numbers as it says on the box (my son needed a 6 for his birthday card), and the folded cards are too shiny to be able to draw on them with the pencil crayons, so we had to use the felt tips from a different set.
These are great sets in so many ways. Brilliant for developing fine motor and writing skills, spending time together and encouraging creativity and storytelling. One of the best things about the Meadow Kids Mini Craft Series is the price - each set retails around £9-£14, so they're ideal to give as gifts.
Meadow Kids kindly offered a bundle of the 3 Mini Craft Kits we reviewed as a prize for one of my readers. That giveaway ended on Friday 31st July 2015

I put the 3 sets on the table, and within 5 minutes this is what we had.....for the next 2 hours!

As luck would have it we were also watching Liv from Simslife - easiest babysitting job ever!
