LEGO Marvel Carnage's SHIELD Sky Attack Set 76036 Review

We're big fans of Super Heroes here, so the new Marvel sets are something our young lads will get a lot of play value from. The SHIELD Helicarrier might be a bit beyond us, but at £11.99 the Carnage's SHIELD Sky Attack is within most budgets.

LEGO Marvel Carnage's SHIELD Sky Attack Set 76036 Review

A few of the bigger Marvel Superheroes sets have a recommended age 7 or 8, but the smaller sets are age 6 and this is a nice easy one which my 5 year old can build alone quite quickly. With 97 pieces it's actually quite a complex and sturdy model, and great little play set. Inside the box we have 2 bags of bricks, instruction booklet and a small sheet of stickers.

The set contains 3 minifigures. Carnage is great with his crazy tentacles and intricate printing. He actually balances very well and my 5 year old has taken a proper shine to him.

Spiderman and the SHIELD Agent also have excellent printing front and back, and I love the SHIELD Agent's flying helmet. Spiderman comes with the Super Jumper. The Super Jumper works incredibly well and you can get good height with them, they definitely add to play value for your younger builders.

The instructions for the set are well spaced out and not at all daunting for a younger builder, and the parts are very easy to sort through.

There are a lot of smaller parts to this model and the SHIELD Jet Flyer is actually a challenge for tiny hands, but not too frustrating as you make a sturdy blocky main body of the craft first, then attach the wings and front.

At the front of the SHIELD Jet Flyer is a neat opening cockpit area with a 'safe' where the SHIELD Agent keeps his treasure, plus 2 stud shooters. I still love these shooters as they work so well.

The SHIELD Agent has a double sided head for the all-important look of horror! The Jet Flyer wings have a lot of movement, but retain their integrity, so the vehicle doesn't fall apart as your child plays.

The whole SHIELD Jet Flyer is impressive. For such a small set this is a nice size vehicle and has masses of play value. It's also encouraged my children to bring out the other Marvel Superheroes LEGO, as it goes so well with the Marvel Avengers Quinjet.

The LEGO Marvel Carnage's SHIELD Sky Attack set 76036 is a great little play set which you will get your money's worth from, my boys have played with it a lot. A sturdy vehicle that's small enough to hold one-handed when you are flying it around the room, has stud shooters and a safe for your extra studs or treasure really is what my 5 year old looks for in every set - in fact it's what he dismantles most of them to make!

The LEGO Carnage's SHIELD Sky Attack set has an rrp of £11.99, which makes it a good value LEGO set for design and number of elements included, with bonus for excellent playability and sparking storytelling and imagination.
