Parents worry about their kids the whole time, and it doesn't stop when you get to 16, or 18, or ever. My 21 year old works bars, clubs, festivals and events all year round, often not finishing until the early hours or even coming home on the first bus in the morning. I worry. I worry he's cold and wet and collapsed in a ditch with hypothermia. It's my job. And kids never wear a proper coat....until now!
Scruffs have sent us their Classic Thermo Parka in 'Dark Lead' colour, and it's gorgeous. The photo's on the website didn't do it justice. We love it, he loves it - a very rare thing.
The Scruffs Classic Thermo Parka is made from 100% polyester with a waterproof rating of 4500mm, with Cordura elbow and shoulder panels which are extra hardwearing.
No Parka would be complete without the hood, and this coat has an adjustable zip off fur-trimmed hood with a bootlace drawstring. The neckline is high, but not stiff, to protect your neck from the wind.
The Classic Thermo Parka has a bubble quilted lining throughout for real warmth. It's definitely not ridiculously thick, but it's good and heavyweight.
There are ribbed inner cuffs on sleeves of the Parka, and an unbelievable 11 pockets!! Each of the 4 velcro fastening front pockets has another zipped pocket behind, plus a zipped sleeve pocket and 2 internal pockets. Some pockets have tags so that you can still open them with thick gloves, as does the main coat zip.
My son has already worn his Classic Thermo Parka to work twice in the pouring rain and was very enthusiastic about just how dry he'd been. It's a real proper coat, and it's very well made. A classic and it really should last him for the next few years.
The Scruffs Classic Thermo Parka currently costs £79.95 and is available in men's sizes Small to XX Large with free UK delivery.
We've reviewed before for Scruffs...my 21 year old also has a great Winter jumper that he's been wearing all year, he had shorts this Summer, and he even has the t-shirt....
We were sent our coat for review. The colour variation in the photos is to do with light variation and unavoidable, the outside shots show truest colour.
The coat look great quality and love that it comes with lot of pockets.
ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen. The pockets are awesome - so many and they're all a good size too :)
DeleteYour son does look very happy wearing it, and if you can get a 21 year old to look that happy wearing a coat then it's a win.
ReplyDeleteHahaha definitely! It's a rare day we're all happy with a coat! :)
