The first new product we tried is hopefully only the start of a range. I love vegetarian kievs because they're so easy to cook straight from the freezer and are a great main meal. Goodlife have launched the Mushroom and Spinach Kiev with a Creamy Garlic and Cheese Sauce.
These are gorgeous. We really could eat these every week and everyone would be happy. The sauce is creamy and tasty, the kiev has a good texture and the crispy crumb is something really special. Goodlife don't see the coating as an afterthought, it's full of seeds and flavour, and really crispy. They taste as good as they look on the plate...
The second new Goodlife product for this Winter is Leek & Caerphilly Glamorgan Sausage with Wholegrain Mustard. We use a lot of sausages here, I cook with them often and have even used Goodlife Sausages before in a 'Cooking With Kids' recipe for Sausage And Bean Pie.
This new Goodlife Foods Leek & Caerphilly Glamorgan Sausage has a very traditional British flavour, and works exceptionally well in recipes such as Toad-In-The-Hole with hidden veg and Sausage And Potato casserole.
Today I'm going to make a version of Mary Berry's Roasted Sausage And Potato Supper using the Glamorgan sausage.
Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
2 large onions, sliced lengthways into wedges
red and yellow peppers, deseeded and diced
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tbsp chopped dried thyme
500g/1lb 2oz new potatoes, cut to around 3cm chunks
8 Goodlife Foods Leek And Caerphilly Glamorgan Sausages
salt and freshly ground black pepper
200ml/7fl oz white wine (reserve for later)
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 220c/200cFan/Gas Mark 7
Mix the ingredients (except the wine) and place in a large ovenproof deep tray or casserole dish
Bake for around 30-45 minutes until the sausages are firm and the potatoes are beginning to brown..
Add the wine, turn everything to cover it in the juices and fats, and cook for a further 20 minutes until golden brown...
Serve with some Winter vegetables and enjoy...
Goodlife Foods are currently available from Ocado, Waitrose, Booths, selected Co-operative and independent stores. Sausages and Kievs are currently priced around £2.49 per pack.
