Each edition is around 36 pages printed in full colour on good quality paper. It has a main theme running throughout and is packed with stories, facts, puzzles and riddles, poems, activities articles and jokes. We were sent two recent issues - a Human Body Special, and and Ancient Romans Special.
The only hints that you are actually following the National Curriculum are the subtle subject headings at the top of each page...
The illustrations are colourful and modern, and the whole magazine has a really exciting feel to it. My boys were instantly drawn in, and both began reading and talking about what they were reading straightaway. They're both competent readers, and Amazing! was a little tricky for my almost 6 year old.
These are brilliant magazines for young children, with images throughout and text in shorter chunks to encourage reluctant and less confident readers. There is plenty of disgusting stuff that children love, and it's littered with random facts and asides, with loads of jokes. My children are like sponges, and they have loved reading this magazine together, with no idea at all that it's supporting their school education.
