LEGO NEXO Knights 4D The Book Of Creativity Review, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, Manchester

Today we were up bright and early to go to the Trafford Centre to LEGOLAND Discovery Centre and be among the first people to see the brand new LEGO NEXO Knights 4D movie, The Book Of Creativity, which launched this weekend.

It was a great opportunity for me to complete the photos for my post showing what's inside LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, and if you haven't been before, then it should give you a good idea of what you will find when you arrive.

LEGO NEXO Knights are popular in our house. Both our 6 and 7 year old boys love the different skills and weapons the characters have, and in The Book Of Creativity they all get to shine and really show their personalities too. And they're pretty cool.

In NEXO Knights 4D The Book Of Creativity our heroes face their regular adversaries, Jestro, The Book Of Monsters and all of their Lava Monsters. Jestro and the NEXO Knights race to take The Book Of Creativity and all the power it holds.

They arrive together and the book is ripped in half. The Book Of Monsters takes his half and forms an immense purple dragon. No-one knows what effect his half will have on the NEXO Knight's ally, the Digital Wizard Merlok 2.0, but it is up to him, and the NEXO Knights to save the day.

We loved it. It was a great. The 4D effects (water/smoke/foam) work very well, especially the smoke and during the rainstorm, and the lighting is particularly effective and atmospheric during this movie.

The animation is good, the 3D effects work well, and the characterisation of The Book Of Monsters is particularly brilliant. The story is a short staple tale of good vs evil, but the characters make it really interesting and it has a depth that means (unless you are well aware of the NEXO Knight's backstory) you'll probably come out of there unsure of what happened 100% of the time. But hey, you can just go back and watch again an hour later...

The 4D cinema seats 100 people, and the seats are big, broad and comfortable, but you won't sit for longer than 15 minutes as each film is around 12 minutes long. The LEGO NEXO Knights movie is the second new movie for 2016, and we especially loved the tongue-in-cheek humour in the recently launched The LEGO Movie 4D: A New Adventure.

Both movies are shown on rotation, starting around every half hour, so you can easily catch both in a single visit to the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre. I recommend that you do...

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is situated at the Barton Square end of The Trafford Centre in Manchester, 5 minutes off the M60. It is open almost every single day from 10am-6.30pm. Children 2 or under are FREE, individual entry costs £9.95 in advance online, or get a combi ticket with Sealife for £17.50.

We have LEGOLAND Discovery Centre annual passes as part of our role as Blogger Ambassadors.
