Ninjago Event until October 20th at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, Manchester

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Manchester has transformed into the world of Ninjago to celebrate the brand new LEGO Ninjago adventure Day of the Departed Ninjas. We went down first thing on Saturday morning to be among the first people to take a look for ourselves...and to meet the 6 foot tall Kai minifigure obviously....

All the children can take a ninja headband on entry - which they were all delighted about. During the Ninjago event children arriving at LEGOLAND dressed as a Ninja can have a free poster (while they still have stock). The trip starts with the Factory Tour, this time with added Ninja skills!

And we spotted a few sneaky Ninjas in Miniland too...

Also in Miniland are the brand new Blackpool Illuminations - it looks great, a really nice job and the lighting really makes it. The actual illumination panels over the road are a bit lacking in detail, but the overall effect perfect. I could almost smell the vinegar on the chips...

There are several special Ninja activities during the event, which runs until October 20th. In the Master Model Building classes you can build your own LEGO Ninjago Eye Mask, there are special bins of LEGO to make Ninjago vehicles, face painters will be on hand each weekend, and check out my 8 year old really getting into the scene with Sensei Yang!

The giant Kai (the Fire Ninja) will also be on hand every day to say 'hiya' to any budding Ninja recruits! He's very friendly really...

Of course the rest of LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is open as usual, including the Ninja Laser Maze, Forest pursuit,  Friends Karaoke (be glad this isn't a video!), free building and more organised building sessions and the Cinema showing the new LEGO Movie 4D: A New Adventure.

On our visit this time my children also collected the stamps from stations dotted around the attraction. More sensible guests can collect them on a card. There are always treasure hunts or collections, ask at the desk when you arrive. During the Ninjago event some of the favourite Ninjago figures are hiding in Miniland...

No trip to LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is complete without exiting via the gift shop. In this case only full of LEGO and 4 of the children in our group had birthday money to spend! Lucky day indeed, and none of them were keen to pose for the camera - they were too busy looking at their LEGO...
