Gary's NOT Going To Blog On Linky Post

Last year a small black kitten appeared at our door crying one morning. I've never been a big fan of cats, in fact the opposite, so believe me when I say I tried REALLY hard to find his owner, much to my family's annoyance. When he turned out to be very poorly, we guessed he had been dumped on purpose.

Gary's medical problem was a little delicate and involved the girth of his manhood, but an operation could give Gary a full and healthy life. Unknown to us, at least at first, a lot of Bloggers gave away the price of a cup of coffee or paid 50p to have a go on the Blog On Lucky Dip.

The NOT Going To Blog On Linky Post

Those pounds were enough to allow us to rescue Gary and still have food for my children to eat. Eight months later, it's only fair that he gives everyone an update....and a pretty huge Thank You x

Share a recent picture of you (if you are an anonymous blog, a drawing is fine).

Describe yourself in three words. I'm a cat.

How long have you been blogging and what made you start? The first post I was involved in was a review - of me. I felt it was fair, although maybe the costings were a little off... by about £1200...

What was the inspiration behind your name? While all the big teenage and grown up people were talking about it, I had a word with the youngest ginger one. He told them.. "His name is Gary". "Why is he called Gary?". "Because that's his name". That's all the explanation you need.

What is the best thing to come from your blog so far? Sadly I haven't yet been given the 3-storey cat hotel of my dreams, but possibly the GTech AirRam might have been due to me. I claim credit because they're all very happy with it. There was also a blog post about a particularly nice Rabitat which was really great fun to play in. And hide things in.

Your most remembered thing from your childhood? Having to scream at them for a whole hour before they let me in. Then the vet thing....traumatic...

What is your happy song? Love Cats by The Cure

What is your favourite alcoholic drink? Water. I've tried cat milk and it's just weird.

Something interesting you might not know about me is? I speak 7 languages and am an expert at Luxury Cat Bed Design. This is my latest and I think you'll agree it has curves in all the right places.

What is your favourite cake? This fishy one. I've not tried it yet because I don't really celebrate a birthday. Plus there's no way this millennium that my owner is cooking with tuna fish. Apparently.

What is your favourite takeaway dish? I'm very keen on egg noodles or egg fried rice, but I'm only allowed a teaspoonful.

Where is your dream holiday destination and why? The Canary Islands, it sounds epic.

What would your superhero name be? Gary The Cat, obviously.

If you had a magical power, would you want to have and why? I'd have the power to make water dry, but all the little shiny fishies would still be in it. And the power to delete the fish tank lid because I can't flick it open and reach to get my other paw in at the same time.

What one weapon would help you survive a zombie apocalypse? Zombies are a human problem. I'd need an electric tin opener and I'd be fine.

If you could send something into space, what would it be? Dogs. And that tortoiseshell cat that sits on the fence and taunts me through the window. I'm an indoor cat.

What would you have on your gravestone? He came, he purred, he conquered. He also peed on the floor a lot.

Which social media platform best describes your personality and why? Instagram. They love a cat photo. Over there, I am King. 60 likes without even attempting a flatlay.

You make headline news around the world in 2 years time... but for what reason? I announce  my allegiance with the League Of Extraordinary Billionaires. Elon Musk and I perfected off-Earth habitation and will be auditioning for travellers.

If an EMP wiped out all mechanical forms of transport, how would you get to BlogOn? I'd hitch. Someone will have a trolley.

Blog On is a blogging conference which will take place on May 21st at the Museum Of Science and Industry in Manchester. Gary sadly left it too late to buy a ticket, but without Bloggers he probably wouldn't be here. You can find all of the other Blog On attendees who have joined in the linky here...

  1. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts Gary! Like your owner I've never been a fan of cats but I'd make an exception for you! Have you considered hosting a session at Blog on? I'm sure it would be popular!

    1. I'm not sure he's up to teaching an entire session. He needs to have a kip every 20 minutes :)

    1. Thanks Susan. It is a really shame - she was fine and then she wasn't. She just died in her sleep during the afternoon. It was the most peaceful way to go at least xx

    1. He is - I admit it. Although not quite so cool when he's peeing on the floor! :)
