The Jungle Book At The Lowry Theatre Ticket Giveaway

Next month the Children’s Touring Partnership and Royal & Derngate will be bringing their adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's 1894 classic children's tale The Jungle Book to The Lowry Theatre in Manchester. The performance will be showing from Wednesday 2nd until Sunday 6th May.

We'll be attending the press night for review and I'm really excited. Even better, I have a family ticket to give away to one of my readers at the end of this post.

The Jungle Book is the story of Mowgli, a boy lost as a baby and raised by wolves in the jungle. Watched over and preyed upon in equal measure, he lives a delicate balance, reliant on his animal friends to keep him safe from the evil tiger, Shere Khan.

The animals teach Mowgli the laws of the jungle and we see him learn to survive and take his place in the pecking order. As he grows and matures, it becomes his turn to defend those who cared for him, and become the protector.

Featuring all of those incredibly well-known names that we learned in childhood (and Scouts!) including Bagheera the panther, Balloo the bear, Kaa the python, and of course the bad guy of the story, the tiger Shere Khan, this reimagined performance has a brand new score and script, which will explore the universal themes of family, belonging and identity.

Written by Jessica Swale, with music by Joe Stilgoe and directed by Max Webster, The Jungle Book promises to be sn amazing performance for all of the family.

Tickets are available now for all showings by ringing 0843 208 6000, in person at the Box Office or on The Lowry Jungle Book webpage - where you can also find footage, photos and backstage interviews.

Age 6+, babes in arms policy applies. Running time 2 hours 15 minutes with interval.
Showings: Wednesday 2nd May 1.30pm/7pm, Thursday 3rd May 1.30pm/7pm, Friday 4th May 7pm, Saturday 5th May 2pm (CC)/7pm and Sunday 6th May 2pm.

The Lowry have kindly offered a family ticket (4 tickets) to The Jungle Book at The Lowry to a show of the winner's choice between Wed 2nd and Sun 6th May.

The tickets cannot be transferred to another show if the prize winner is unable to make the week of the show. The four tickets can be used by any combination eg 2 adults & 2 children, 1 adult and 3 children but children must be accompanied by an adult. Additional tickets can be purchased next to the competition tickets if they wish to bring more guests. The show has an age guidance of 6+, but all ages are admitted.

The giveaway ended at midnight FRIDAY 27th APRIL and the winner emailed next morning.
