Special BBC Countryfile rambles will take place all over the UK, this year hoping to amass over 18,000 miles in total, walked by ramblers getting outdoors and enjoying their right to roam around our beautiful countryside.
Last year's Countryfile ramblers raised over £100,000 for the charity and this year they hope to beat that figure. For the second year Blacks have created a special BBC Children in Need Countryfile ramble hat to keep ramblers warm and raise a bit of extra money for the charity, as 50% of the purchase price is donated to Children In Need.
We've been sent the special Bobble Hat, plus some other items to keep us warm while out and about this Winter. I'll do a review post once I've tried everything properly, but I have some gorgeous and incredibly warm but thin The North Face women's gloves from Blacks, which allow me to use my phone without removing them.
My partner has also been sent The North Face Men's gloves by Blacks, which can be worn while he uses his smartphone, despite being really padded, waterproof and chunky (ideal for snowballs).
I have a really warm and cosy, supersoft grey/blue Women's Fleece which is also from The North Face and will be amazing for the school run when I don't want to wear a huge Winter coat or raincoat, but need a warm jacket - like today!
My partner has also been sent some great walking boots and a big cosy Berghaus Men’s fleece which is utterly lovely. It's got a supersoft lining and I want to pinch it already...
My partner and I are really only capable of rambling in a slow walk around the park at the moment, but even that benefits you massively. Being outside in the fresh air, closer to nature and away from screens is good for the soul. The physical exercise can be at your own pace and for as long as you can comfortably manage.
If you go rambling, always tell someone where you are going and especially this time of year, make sure you check the weather forecast and follow advice. Wrap up warm and wear something bright - the £7 Children In Need Hat is available to purchase from Blacks and at least £3.50 goes straight to Children In Need.
BBC Children In Need this year takes place on Friday November 16th.
The brands included in this post sent us the products featured for our opinion.
My granddaughter had one of these hats which she's worn constantly since the Country file Ramble. Unfortunately I was list at the beach and I am desperately trying to find a replacement. I don't suppose that you still have any? Thanks, Barbara
ReplyDeleteI don't - they only sent me one, and it's been very well worn by my 12 year old, who won't want to part with it. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful, maybe Blacks could help? I know there was definitely a yellow bobble hat last year as well, so hopefully next year they'll do one too. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
DeleteDoes anyone know where I can get the children in need bobble hat
ReplyDeleteHiya yes! It's available from the Children In Need shop - but I know they have been having issues with the website, so if it doesn't work it's because it's broken and try again tomorrow. Hope that helps! https://www.bbcchildreninneedshop.co.uk/
DeleteAnd now I've said that I can see it isn't showing up in the shop. Hopefully not because they've run out. You are perhaps best to try the contact links on the site and ask. Fingers crossed.
