The beginning of the book explains how we see and how eyes work, and why we even need sight at all. It's beautifully written and presented in a fold out page which already makes you feel you are holding something exciting.
There's even a short section about colour. Having 3 colourblind boys we really found this really interesting. How different animals view colours has had a lot of discussion here with my dichromats.
The rest of the book is given over to actual eyes - tons of them from all kinds of living beings. Open the eyes on the page and you will see how that animal, bird, reptile, insect or other creature views the same image.
The pages are filled with gorgeous illustrations and short, simple text to accompany each illustration or photo. It's truly fascinating and a really amazing book to pour over. I will never look at animals - or worms - in the same way again...
There's no age suitability for this book. My eldest son came for tea tonight and even he was caught up for 20 minutes...
