We're working with Zuru Toys and Tesco - who will be stocking Bunch O Balloons Party Balloons from this week. They've sent us the Party Balloon Starter Pack With Pump to review, plus some extra Party Balloon Refills (and I'll also have a giveaway on Facebook so that one reader can go and buy some for themselves!)...
Packaging is mainly card with a large plastic window for the balloons, and it's not ideal to keep for storage. The balloons with their ribbons and rubbery hollow sticks are packaged carefully to avoid tangling without using lots of tape - nicely done. Easy to open and you can use it instantly.
The pump is pretty heavy and seems very well made. It's mains powered with a short cable, which is probably very wise if you are using it at a party with excited small people running about. This is a high volume, low pressure compressor which will blow up large items fairly quickly, but doesn't have much force. It won't pump up tyres, but you can use it for air beds and inflatables, and the adapters are included.
On the top is a really easy to use rotating wheel to select the number of balloons you'll be inflating. You can pick from 8, 16 or 40 (or you can use the insert piece to pump up something else). The balloons can also be used with an adapter and a Helium canister if you want them to be floaty).
There's a small one-way valve glued into the neck of each balloon. Because they're self-sealing you don't need to tie any knots, and they even come with a string attached to each balloon.
Just insert the ends of the rubber sticks into the pump and go. It's almost foolproof , and took around 16 seconds to inflate 16 balloons! That really does feel like you are cheating.
You need to strip apart the groups of 8 'sticks' unless you want to keep them in bunches. The 'sticks' are actually soft and rubbery, and great if you want to tape the balloons together. If you don't want them, just cut them off! They were brilliant for taping balloons to our door - and they stayed put overnight.
We've had 24 balloons inflated for 3 days now and only a couple have gone down. One popped and we've reinflated 8 of the smallest - it took about 4 seconds! The balloons are made from natural rubber and are biodegradable, but because you aren't breathing into them, they shouldn't stick together when they deflate.
Here's a 2 minute video showing how quickly the pump inflates the balloons!
Around 42p per balloon we think is very fair when you consider the time and effort saved, and the fact they are already strung and have a stick - they are brilliant either for decorating or for children to carry around, and if a bunch of 9-11 year olds only pop one - they're really good balloons!
Bunch O Balloons Self-Sealing Party Balloons are available to buy now from larger Tesco. You can find your nearest Tesco Bunch O Balloons stockist here. My nearest Tesco Superstore in Bury sells them, at the very reasonable price of £15 for the Party Pump Starter Kit with 16 Balloons included. Refills cost around £9.99 for 24 balloons. You can find out more about Bunch O Balloons Party, including how to recycle all of the balloon parts, on the Zuru Bunch O Balloons Party website.
We were sent our Bunch O Balloons Self-Sealing Party Balloons for review by Zuru Toys and Tesco. We were also given a small Tesco voucher to buy spare balloons as appreciation for the time spent.
How cool are they? They look great and what a fab price too. Simple and quick to put up x
ReplyDeleteI bought one used it once, the individual pack of balloons are expensive. I'm looking at it trying to figure out how to connect the hose to blow up this dollar store balloons 😂
ReplyDeleteYour best bet is probably Amazon or similar 🙂
DeleteCan you please show me what adapter you use to fill the balloons with helium
ReplyDeleteI've tried contacting zuru but I'm not getting any where
Thanks
Hiya- sorry I can't help. It was shown on the Zuru website or Amazon when I wrote the review, but I didn't have one and haven't ever used them with helium. Sorry I'm not any help. If you ask Zuru publicly on social media they may be more swift to respond - it usually works when you don't get a reply by email.
DeleteHi i just bought this and it wont work! i tried everything but its not working! please tell me what to do
ReplyDeleteI honestly can't help you from that message, as you don't give me much to go on. Ours still works fine, we used it last month for a birthday. My best advice would be to take it back to where you bought it and ask for a replacement. Sorry I can't be of more help!
