It seems a Zen Garden is a relaxing and tranquil thing whatever your age, so I'm delighted that Canal Toys are giving one of you a Wonder Magic Garden as a Christmas Present.
There are lots of different features, but your garden has 4 different sections and plenty of coloured sand to pick and choose how you fill them. There is also a putty-type slime to fill your pond area of the garden.
At the back of the garden is a round, raised section with a removable lid. Underneath you can hide the water to 'grow' your magic trees. Two trees are supplied and they're great. It takes a few days to really grow,they are beautiful to look at. Don't ever touch them because the crystals are very fragile. The terrarium goes over the round raised part of the garden to protect the tree and keep it clean.
Once you have laid the foundations and 'planted' your tree it's time to decorate. There are small animal friends to add in, an arbour, a rainbow and several gemstones, as well as the all-important gardening tools to tend your garden.
Playing with the Wonder Magic Garden is incredibly calming and relaxing. Zen gardens had a popular spell in the 90's, and I can see why. Tending to the garden, brushing the sand and arranging it all nicvely is rewarding and soothing, and really there is so much more value to this 'toy' than you might realise.

I have 3 trees, one is a thin twig tree, the other two are fake christmas trees. The twig tree has photo's of family past & present in little photo frames hanging as well as angels & birds. The largest christmas tree has had a lot of money spent on the decorations with most being individually bought glass baubles & the second Christmas tree is a wildlife country theme so has many differnt kinds of wooden, felted animals & baubles on it.
ReplyDeleteWe have an artificail tree but it was very expensive and looks real! It is decorated with rather expensive decorations too, which i add to each year. I defo believe in quality rater that quantity. No tinsel, just baubles and lights. I also love fairy lights and traditional Christmas decorations, such as garlands and wreaths, nativity scenes etc. Our decorations must total into the £1000s eek but I do love Christmas and i love putting up out tree and decorations from the beginning of december until 12th night!

ReplyDeleteWe collect our real tree from a local farm each year. I put the lights on the tree first, our daughter decorates it with the ornaments we've collected and have been passed down to us over the years (each year we buy a new ornament to add to the collection) and my OH does the grand light switch-on. It's very much an ongoing family tradition.

ReplyDeleteWe used to have a real tree but have now got a really natural looking artificial one. We have baubles in three different colour schemed - red/gold, brown/gold and lilac/silver and rotate them year on year. Then just as the tree's looking all tasteful and coordinated, we chuck everything else on and finish it off with a load of chilli fairy lights, ruining all our original plans.

ReplyDeleteWe have an artifical tree (we've had it since our first Christmas in our home, we also had a puppy and didn't want her getting the needles stuck in her paws etc). There are some lovely, full artificial trees and I don't think it's really needed to go and cut down a real one anymore. I'm a neat decorater...I like the tree just so and have to stop myself moving the ones my husband puts up.
