Inside the box are two piles of cards and the instructions. Everything is minimal, with barely any plastic, and the game can be sent through regular post.
The instructions are also minimal! There are 4 cards for the table which remind players timings and rules for Act, Draw or Describe, and the scoring for each round, and really the rest is pretty obvious.
All of the other cards are labelled A, B and C and are placed in 3 piles in the middle of the table. Strung together they make a complete, if daft, sentence.
A - description e.g. hairy, smelly, excited
B - entity e.g. tiger, princess, badger
C - action e.g. eating spaghetti, ironing
Players take turns to be the one who has to convey the sentence to their teammates and they can choose Act, Draw or Describe before they pick up their 3 cards. You also pick Easy or Hard. Once you've taken the cards, you can't change your mind.
If your team don't manage to get all 3 parts in time, then the other team can steal. First team to 30 points wins.
Randomise really is incredibly random! Some of the cards seem impossible and then you suddenly work out a great clue, others seem fairly easy but your team simply don't think like you do. There are over a million different possible combinations, so even if you play for years, you are unlikely to play two games the same.
We really enjoyed playing and laughed so much at points - mostly when you finally are told what you were meant to be guessing and it still makes no sense to you!
Each game takes 4 of us around 45 minutes, and it goes quickly. Randomise is quite fast-paced, the timer and the fact you can keep guessing for the whole time make it noisy and exciting - more so the more players you have!
A great game for any group of 4 or more, including large groups and for different generations to play together. The small size means it's easily taken with you - perfect for visiting relatives and friends over Christmas, or for posting as a gift.
Randomise is made by Gamely Games and is available now at £12.99rrp, making it an ideal Christmas gift. Here's an Amazon affiliate link below with free Prime postage:
