Don't Upset The Llama! Family Party Game Review (age 6+) Sent by Tactic Games

Don't Upset The Llama is a family party game that is as crazy as it sounds. Tactic Games have sent us a copy for review and it's a lot of fun.

Suitable for 2 to 4 players aged 6+, you may well get wet, but not too wet. All you have to do is spot spitting llamas or trumpets on the cards before the other players, and you'll stay dry! Easy!

Inside the box is everything you need. 64 cards, a special die, the very brief and simple rules, and the all-important star of the game, the Llama Spray Gun. I know what you are thinking, but trust me, it's just a little splash. It might look a big Llama pistol, but it's more of a kitten.

I can't complain about the packaging because actually when you have a damp water pistol to put away, you need it away from the cards, so the plastic is genuinely useful, and the split box a great touch - as is the special wooden die.

The game is played with cards, and they have the most amazing illustrations - of llamas doing all kinds of random and unlikely things!

It may be new, but Don't Upset The Llama has already appeared on ITV’s How To Spend It Well At Christmas with Phillip Schofield, it was awarded “Recommended’ status by The Good Toy Guide and has been acknowledged for encouraging concentration by Fundamentally Children.  I agree, it's a great game for children who don't usually find it easy to turn take and sit still.

To play the game, fill the Llama Pistol with water, deal the cards between the players face down, then roll the die to see whether you turn over 1,2 or 3 cards or grab the llama.

When the last card of the turn is revealed, if any player spots a spitting llama or a trumpet, they grab the Llama Pistol and spray someone! Once someone has been sprayed 4 times, the game ends. The winner is the 'least sprayed' person - and that's never been me so far. My kids are quick!

I really like Don't Upset The Llama and so do my children. It's great fun and very quick to play. An entire game only takes around 15 minutes, so you can slot it in whenever you have a time for some lightweight entertainment and a good laugh.
