Discovery Mindblown 4D Shark Review and Giveaway Age 6+ (sent by The Essential One).

While a lot of online vendors have had to close shop for a while, The Essential One are still open for business and have a lot to offer, even if your children are a bit older. They have sent us two of the toys for bigger kids from the Discovery Mindblown STEM range. This is The Discovery Toy Anatomy 4D Shark. Age 6+

My son was ecstatic to see this. He loves sharks and anatomy, and so it is perfect for him. There is a big plastic insert in the box, and we aren't going to keep ours - this is a shelf model my son wants to display.

Inside the box are all the parts of your shark, and be careful not to miss any because a couple are very small. There are 20 parts in all, and they are really well decorated and nicely shaped from rubbery plastic. It is really nicely made.

There's also a display stand, and there's an information leaflet so that you can learn about what you are building too. The leaflet has a detailed experiment to find out just how effective blubber is at keeping the cold out.

A couple of the organs are a bit tricky to position, and snapping the clear cover onto the shark is quite stiff, but it adds to the challenge and my 11 year old had to look closely at the shapes and work out how best to do it. He did get a hand from his Dad though, and I think they both enjoyed looking at the model parts together and learning about the biology of a shark.

Tadah! The completed model is really very impressive and looks fascinating. Sharks might have a lot of the same organs as us, but they can be incredibly different!

There is also a FREE Discovery Mindblown app. which lets you explore and learn more, it's a bit Ameican in language, but has games, DIY videos and loads more.

Our grandsons have recently moved to a more rural setting & the 2 year old has a thing for Gee Gee's, so a horse would be good.
