ASDA asked if we wanted to take a look at some of their personalised photo gifts, so I set my children the challenge to make me something nice - and they haven't disappointed me! They chose a Mother's day card, a mug and a large canvas...
A good measure of how easy a website is to use, is to send a 13 year old to try it, and clearly ASDA's website is easy enough, because I received no complaints.
The teenager did have assistance from his older brother, and direction from his other siblings, but I am told he designed the card entirely by himself... including 5 photos of himself - 3 of them photoshopped into love hearts. Winning the prize for getting into my good books there...
The card is packaged in a cardboard envelope, and comes with a standard card envelope as well, so you can either have it posted directly to the recipient, or write your own envelope and pass it over by hand.
The mug is completely covered in full colour print, using 2 large photos, and the printing is pin sharp. As the children took the images from relatively low resolution photos I had shared on Facebook, I'm especially impressed.
The largest photo gift is the canvas, and I had no idea what was coming. I admit, I got a lump in my throat when I saw it. The kids decided to make a collage, which was probably very sensible as they were mainly using lower resolution photos taken from my Facebook account and my blog. They chose some great photos with lots of colour and personality. An excellent job.
When you look closely, you can see the lower resolution photos, so if you want to avoid that then use originals. My kids didn't want me to know exactly what they were doing, so I think this gives a great review of what you can achieve 'secretly', without having original photos, and it's enough to bring a smile to the face of any Mum...
The canvas comes with everything you need to hang it on the wall, and is set into a proper wooden frame. There are even some wooden wedges if you need to tighten the canvas a little, although ours is perfect.
ASDA photo gifts are very reasonably priced. There are masses to choose from, including blocks, cushions, books, phone cases, t-shirts and loads more. They have a selection of different card styles for £1.90, full photo mugs start at £8 each (there are a huge range of different shaped and sized mugs available), and the impressively large 16 x 24 Borderless Collage is £34. I'm really pleased with mine, this is one Mother's Day where I am definitely feeling spoilt...
Aww! What fab gifts. I really do rate Asda Photos. I have lots of things from there, some I've reviewed and some I've bought myself. I love that canvas, what fun photos x
ReplyDeleteI've bought gifts from them before as well - they really are very good value for the money, and quick too! I think I'm still in awe of the fact I can get things with my own photos on and it takes less than a month lol :D
